Yes, there are indeed zombie programmers. Perhaps you have missed the latest newsletter on the zombie apocalypse. If so, let me bring you up to speed.
Zombie Programmers have existed for a long time. Some go to school. Some work in cubicles. And some are freelance zombie programmers!
That’s me. I’m Zombie Tim.
I live in Atlanta, a town known for Coca Cola and The Walking Dead. I am a zombie who has been working in software development for the last 20+ years (a zombie never reveals their true age). I’ve worked as a programmer in industries like telecommunications, real estate, healthcare, insurance, public safety, and human resources. I’ve worked with technologies as scary as COBOL and mainframe assembly, but for most of the last 15 years I’ve worked with Microsoft technologies in the ASP.NET, VB.NET, and C# front, in both Webforms and MVC development. I’ve also worked extensively with SQL Server and no-SQL databases. And more recently, I’ve been working in “the cloud”, specifically Amazon and AWS. Zombies are fascinated by clouds.
I decided to start a freelance software development business to find interesting projects to do. You see, I love learning, as any good zombie should. Zombies are all about brainz, and I like using my brainz. And what I enjoy most is learning how I can make a solution that makes someone’s life easier, helping them work faster, or helps them make money.
Zombies like to share with their pack. For those who come here seeking knowledge, this zom-blog will focus on how to use the world of Amazon and AWS in your programs. I’ll mostly be writing in C#, but expect many zombies will understand my code and be able to apply it to their own zombie language. If you’re completely new to C# and want a couple guides to learn the basics, take a look at Learn C# in One Day and Learn It Well: C# for Beginners with Hands-on Project (Learn Coding Fast with Hands-On Project) (Volume 3) or C: Step-By-Step Guide To C# Programming For Beginners.
So sit back, grab some popcorn, and get ready for some articles that will hopefully entertain as well as teach you something new!
