From time to time, I come across interesting material or websites, and want to share what I find with the horde. You’ll find book recommendations, training recommendations, and other exciting stuff here. Hopefully they can enrich your undead life in some small way.

I recently got the Echo Dot, and gotta admit I’m loving it. I was a big fan of Siri, but the Echo Dot seems to have better voice recognition, and more importantly, zombies can program it with new skills. It’s relatively cheap to buy and tinker with. Zombie recommends!
Books
Soft Skills – By John Sonmez – one of the best books out there for a software developer to understand the industry in which they work, and the opportunities they have. It’s filled with useful tips about life too. I highly recommend.
Clean Code: A Handbook of Agile Software Craftsmanship -By Robert C. Martin – software is complex enough without having to read through a horde slaughter of messy code. Clean Code focuses on how to write code you can be proud of, code that others can understand and maintain without cursing your name.
Head First Design Patterns: A Brain-Friendly Guide – By Freeman, Bates, Sierra, and Robson – this book helps you actually understand Design Patterns and why you might use them, and when. Other books on this topic tend to make my brainz hurt.

acloud.guru – a great website which will help you prepare for the AWS certification tests. Run by a nice group of Aussies.
